![]() Make SSE more realistic for your ears with this mod, though note it only works if you play exclusively in first-person. "HRTF (Head Related Transfer Functions) refers to the way that the curvature of one's ears are used to localize sound in 3D space." I don't know exactly what that first sentence means, but I understand the second one. Binaural 3D Surround Sound for Headphones - HRTF ![]() For instance, tab will always take you back a stage and enter will let you select an option even when you're crafting and would normally have to mouse back over it. It also improves the keyboard controls in a few ways. You have no idea how much better this tiny quality-of-life tweak makes things. Increases the clickable areas of menu items so they're the actual width of the item rather than just an absurd little square in the middle of it. So why does the SSE disable achievements if you've got mods running? Stick it to 'em by using this plugin from xSHADOWMANx that lets you earn achievements even while using mods. Just because you're modding doesn't mean you're cheating (necessarily). There are two versions to download, and the Best of Both Worlds version lets you keep all the Creation Club content added by the Anniversary Edition. If the Anniversary Edition update is causing your favorite mods grief (we're talking about Simply Knock here), this will roll you back to Special Edition version 1.5.97. There's a sculpt mode if you want to get right into messing with the geometry of your head, and you can turn the light illuminating your face on and off to see how your features will look in different situations, which is a blessing. RaceMenuĪn improved character creation menu with numeric displays for all sliders and the ability to choose any color for your hair, skin, or other tints rather than being limited based on race. If you've got Project Proteus installed, uninstall and replace it with Proteus instead. There are a bunch of other tweaks as well. The new version runs faster, and when swapping between characters you now switch to their location rather than them being summoned to you, making for a more GTA 5 kind of experience. Proteus replaces an older version called Project Proteus. Some of what Proteus makes possible is already doable with Skyrim's console commands (opens in new tab) and existing mods, but this brings it all together in a single pop-up menu. It also lets you edit NPCs and items, even the weather. NPCs who have died remain dead, items left in storage can be retrieved, and so on. ![]() While you could switch to another savegame to play your Khajiit archer for a while, Proteus lets you import your characters into an existing world state-meaning you can switch to a character with their own items, skills, and spells, but keep your current quest progression. Plenty of fans have taken it upon themselves to fix bugs, optimize and overhaul systems, and make the user interface more to their liking. Or maybe they've modded full, networked multiplayer into the game. ![]() We all know the reputation Bethesda's games have. The easiest way to do that is to install it separately for every single game you want to mod. One downside to Mod Organizer 2 is that if you plan to mod multiple different games with it, switching between them can be a hassle. If you really care about how neat your folders look, Mod Organizer 2 is probably for you. Mod Organizer 2Īs an alternative to Vortex, Mod Organizer 2 is meant for modders who plan to do a lot of experimenting, keeping separate profiles and installing then uninstalling various mods. Make sure to download the version that lets you pick a custom install installation if you don't have Skyrim on your C drive. It's simple to use, and it works with a number of other games like the Fallout series, the Witcher series, Darks Souls, XCOM 2, and lots more. Download from: Nexus Mods (opens in new tab)įor downloading, installing, and managing Skyrim Special Edition mods, we recommend Vortex.

But the majority of the game is in the on-foot arena sections where a lot of the repetitive missions take hold. See you guys soon again as I'm getting real close to beating Pilotwings. This is a game that has always divided SF fans for one reason for another and it's a shame, as it was the proper evolution of StarFox, hampered by rough design in spots.Īssault has great on-rails missions, though a little sluggish compared to some of the best in 64. It's definitely a less stressful version of Star Fox I'll say that! My second goal is to beat Free Roam mode 100% and I'm 4 collectibles away. My goal has been to get 3 stars in all the missions and I'm 1 mission away from that. I LOOOOOVE Wuhu Island and I've finally gotten to explore every nook and cranny of it in this game. It is a very short game but it's really cool to see the multiple paths and missions with each new playthrough. Overall: Once you get used to the controls, the game can actually be enjoyed. Despite the hardships, I'm looking forward to playing more Star Fox games in the future. I also played some of the versus mode to take out my frustrations on Peppy. On my final run, I switched back to N64 mode and went though the easiest path to finish up the last unexplored regions. I did not bother going for gold medals on each mission although I did end up with 1. ![]() I played the whole game on 3Ds mode to make the game a little easier (no gyroscope though). The first time I finished the game, I got the actual ending but that final boss kicked my butt due to my damaged wings. Speaking of graphics, they did good with the remake! Not as pretty as the Zelda 3Ds remakes, but there were some good visuals here. The warp gates are very pretty but the first one is really tough to use. I love that there are 2 other characters that help you out during different routes. I made sure to go to every planet and star system to fully experience the gameplay. I can't stay mad though because I really like Wolf's voice in this game and getting back to Venom was a piece of cake as the game is so short. They basically destroyed me in my first run and it ended there. ![]() Defeating Star Wolf in Venom was less of a hassle. The game also got fun once I learned how to properly do a u-turn in all range mode. Once I got used to the controls and found how to best utilize the charged shot, my teammates got a lot less annoying. If I didn't help him in 3 seconds he'd be like "What's taking so long Fox?". Plus having to save them from enemy ships was just as bad. To add to the frustration - why can I attack my teammates? It was so annoying to be firing away only for Falco/Slippy/Peppy to speed in front of me and then complain I hit them. So these 2 things really prepared me in learning the controls and seeing what the game was all about even though it was getting very frustrating. I didn't realize that a) Nintendo 64 mode was actually the more challenging mode and b) I somehow ended up taking the difficult path at the end of my first run I had a real rough time with the game at first but it grew on me. Update time! I'm the gamer doing a Smash Bros Challenger challenge this year. ![]()

I’m rarely outside of my own LAN but in times i was i just set up an encrypted VPN server on my router itself, which is a normal Asus AC-1900P running AsusWRT Merlin, to get into my LAN that way. It’s always just worked for me from any device I have that would need to consume the media i have. Music, annoyingly, usually goes to the horribly inefficient ALAC format but i’ll transcode it to optimfrog or ape for devices that can use it, flac as a compatibility fallback. I ingest my media by transcoding movies / tv shows to X265 using a custom bit of settings on my Windows PC using StaxRIP and manually converting any surround sound audio to stereo using Resolve and then exporting that to WAV and transcoding that to AAC using Apple’s AAC encoder using dBPowerAMP. I listen to music on the Mac Mini just using Music and i have all my music local on this computer in a shared folder (In ALAC format). I mainly watch media on the Mac Mini using the video playing app IINA or in Edge. You could set it up with cron, but for some reason cron in docker is a nightmare that still hasn’t been solved yet.Īnyways, all of that is far too complex when you could just use the built-in NextCloud Music app, which imports music automatically into your library, and gives you a SubSonic and Ampache server which works just fine with the multitude of clients.įor pictures, there’s some promising movement in NextCloud but nothing quite like Google Photos yet where you can search by object/person etc and get relevant results. There is an option to “import in place” but it’s not at all convenient, and requires executing commands inside the docker container on a regular basis. So if you want to have an SMB share that you dump music into or keep raw tracks around, you wind up duplicating tracks. The downside to Funkwhale is, you need to “import” tracks to it. It’s federated, easy to share your library with friends, and supports SubSonic. If you want something standalone, Funkwhale is a really pretty option. (Kodi + Jellyfin, for starters).įor Music, SubSonic is the only way to go, because of the abundance of SubSonic clients. Which means if you want to transcode local media from a centralized source, you need a more elaborate setup. The downside is, you have to host it at the client.
